TO RECOGNIZE THE FARMINGTON HIGH SCHOOL 14 
LADY CARDINALS AS THE 2024 CLASS 4A GIRLS 15 
SOFTBALL STATE CHAMPIONS. 16

WHEREAS, the Farmington High School Lady Cardinals defeated the Pea Ridge 19 
High School Lady Blackhawks 6 -5 to become the 2024 Class 4A Girls Softball 20 
State Champions on May 17, 2024; and 21 
 22 
 WHEREAS, the Pea Ridge High School Lady Blackhawks scored five (5) 23 
straight runs in the home half of the game but that was all they would get as 24 
the Farmington High School Lady Cardinals held on for the 6 -5 win; and 25 
 26 
 WHEREAS, freshman pitcher Morgan Reaves was named most valuable player 27 
as she pitched a complete game, striking out four (4) batters and givin	g up 28 
five (5) hits, three (3) walks, and five (5) earned runs; and 29 
 30 
 WHEREAS, other key players included: 31 
 (1)  Morgan Uher going three (3) for three (3), drawing a walk, 32 
scoring a run, and driving in three (3) more runs; 33 
 (2)  Reese Shirey going two ( 2) for four (4) and scoring two (2) 34 
runs; 35 
 (3)  Kinley Meek going one (1) for three (3) with a two (2) run 36     	HR1002

 (4)  Justine Davidson and Kennedy Griggs each going one (1) for 2

 WHEREAS, the Farmington High Scho ol Lady Cardinals were led by Coach 5 
Jason Shirey; and 6

 WHEREAS, Coach Jason Shirey was voted by his peers as the Arkansas 8 
Activities Association's Outstanding Softball Coach for the 2024 season; and 9 
 10 
 WHEREAS, the Farmington High School Lady Cardinals con cluded their 11 
season at 23-5; and 12 
 13 
 WHEREAS, the Farmington High School Lady Cardinals have had an 14 
impressive history in softball, securing four (4) state championships between 15 
1999 and 2011, and now again in 2024, 16 
 17 
NOW THEREFORE, 18 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUS E OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY -FOURTH GENERAL 19 
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 20 
 21 
 THAT the House of Representatives recognize the Farmington High School 22 
Lady Cardinals as the 2024 Class 4A Girls Softball State Champions. 23 
 24 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon adoption, a copy of this resolution shall be 25 
provided to Coach Jason Shirey by the Chief Clerk of the House of 26 
Representatives. 27
