MONITOR IN THE ARKANSAS MEDICAID PROGRAM; AND FOR 10 
OTHER PURPOSES. 11

GLUCOSE MONITOR IN THE ARKANSAS MEDICAID 16 
PROGRAM. 17

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 19 
 20 
 SECTION 1.  Arkansas Code § 20 -77-148(c), concerning the coverage of a 21 
continuous glucose monitor within the Arkansas Medicaid Program, is amended 22 
to read as follows: 23 
 (c)  Coverage for a continuous glucose monitor under the Arkansas 24 
Medicaid Program shall allow the beneficiary to obtain a continuous glucose 25 
monitor through: 26 
 (1)  A a prescription at a pharmacy and be eligible for rebates 27 
as a pharmacy benefit ; or 28 
 (2)(A)  A written order from a ordering practitioner for durable 29 
medical equipment provided by a durable medical equipment provider and be 30 
eligible as a durable medical equipment benefit. 31 
 (B)  A durable medical provider shall not be required to 32 
submit a National Drug Code as part of any claim submission under this 33 
section. 34

continuous glucose monitors within the Arkansas Medicaid Program, is amended 1 
to add an additional subsection to read as follows: 2 
 (d)  Regardless of whether the coverage for a continuous glucose 3 
monitor is provided through a pharmacy or a durable medical equipment 4 
provider, the Department of Human Services shall: 5 
 (1)  Implement consistent approval requirements; and 6 
 (2)  Reimburse for a continuous glucose monitor provided by a 7 
durable medical equipment provider at no less than the Medicare reimbursement 8 
under the Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System. 9
