BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 21

SECTION 1. Arkansas Code § 20 -77-1901(7), concerning the definition of 23
"specialty hospital" relating to the assessment fee on hospitals, is amended 24
to read as follows: 25
(7) “Specialty hospital” means an acute care general hospital 26
that: 27
(A) Limits services primarily to children and qualifies as 28
exempt from the Medicare prospective payment system regulation; or 29
(B) Is primarily or exclusively engaged in the care and 30
treatment of patients with : 31
(i) Cardiac cardiac conditions; or 32
(ii) Orthopedic or spinal conditions; 33
