BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 24

SECTION 1. Arkansas Code ยง 20 -18-203(b), concerning the State 26
Registrar of Vital Records, is amended to add an additional subdivision to 27
read as follows: 28
(6) The state registrar shall coordinate with the University of 29
Arkansas for Medical Sciences to contact mothers of infants registering for a 30
certificate of birth in this state to provide the mothers with support and 31
assistance during the postpartum period. 32
