BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY -FIFTH GENERAL 22 
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 23

 SECTION 1.  Section 53.(a) of the Rules of the House of Representatives 25 
of the Ninety-Fourth General Assembly, concerning House standing committees, 26 
is amended to read as follows: 27 
 53.(a)  HOUSE STANDING COMMITTEES 28

 Judiciary 31 
 Public Health, Welfare and Labor 32

 Revenue and Taxation 34

 SECTION 2.  Section 53.(b) of the Rules of the House of Representatives 6 
of the Ninety-Fourth General Assembly, concerning Joint Select Committees, is 7 
amended to add a new subdivision to read as follows: 8 
 53.(b)  JOINT SELECT COMMITTEES 9 
 (1)  Joint Budget -- (to consist of twenty four (24) members of the 10 
House and twenty four (24) members of the Senate, and the immediate past co	-11 
chairs of the Legislative Council and ex -officio members in accordance with 12 
Arkansas Code ยง 10-3-502. (Arkansas Code, Subchapter 5, -- Joint Budget 13 
Committee) The House members of the Joint Budget Committee shall be known as 14 
the House Budget Committee. 15 
 (2)  Joint Committee on Energy -- (to consist of fifteen (15) members 16 
of the House, fifteen (15) House alternates, and ten (10) members of the 17 
Senate. (Arkansas Code, Title 10, Subchapter 8 -- Energy Committees.) 18 
 (3)  Joint Committee on Public Retirement and Social Security 19 
Programs -- (to consist of ten (10) members of the House, ten (10) House 20 
alternates, and ten (10) members of the Senate.  (Arkansas Code, Title 10, 21 
Subchapter 7 -- Retirement Committees) 22 
 (4)  Joint Performance Review Committee -- (to consist of twenty (20) 23 
members of the House and ten (10) members of the Senate. (Arkansas Code, 24 
Title 10, Subchapter 9 -- Joint Performance Review Committees) 25 
 (5)  Joint Committee on Advanced Communications and Information 26 
Technology -- (to consist of ten (10) members of the House, ten (10) House 27

 (6)  Joint Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs โ€“ (to consist of 31 
twelve (12) members of the House, twelve (12) House alternates, and eight (8) 32

 SECTION 3.  Section 54.(b)(4) of the Rules of the House of 36    	HR1034

Representatives of the Ninety -Fourth General Assembly, concerning membership 1 
on House select committees, is amended to read as follows: 2 
 (4)  No member of the House of Representatives shall serve on more than 3 
one (1) select committee. The Legislative Council, the Legislative Joint 4 
Auditing Committee, the House Budget Committee, the House Committee on the 5 
Journal; Engrossed and Enrolled Bills, and the House Management Committee , 6 
and the Joint Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs are excluded 7 
therefrom.  8

 SECTION 4.  Section 64.(a)(6) of the Rules of the House of 10 
Representatives of the Ninety -Fourth General Assembly, concerning subject 11 
matter jurisdiction of the House Committee on Aging, Children and Youth, 12 
Legislative and Military Affairs, is amended to read as follows: 13 
 (6)  Committee on Aging, Children and Youth, and Legislative and 14 
Military Affairs โ€“ matters pertaining to the aged, child custody, adoptions, 15 
problems of aging; children and youth, military, veterans, legislative 16 
affairs, memorials, other matters whenever the subject matter is not germane 17 
to the subject matter of any other standing committee and resolutions germane 18 
to the subject matter of the committee; 19 
 20 
 SECTION 5.  Section 64.(b)(1) of the Rules of the House of 21 
Representatives of the Ninety -Fourth General Assembly, concerning the 22 
permanent subcommittees of each House standing committee, is amended to read 23 
as follows: 24 
 (1)  For the House standing committee on Aging, Children and 25 
Youth, and Legislative and Military Affairs, the following permanent 26 
subcommittees are created: 27 
 (A)  Aging 28 
 (B)  Children and Youth 29
