WHEREAS, President Donald J. Trump has nominated former Governor of 22
Arkansas Michael Dale "Mike" Huckabee as United States Ambassador to Israel 23
in recognition of former Governor Huckabee's extensive experience, passion, 24
and commitment to the United States -Israel alliance; and 25

WHEREAS, former Governor Huckabee was a three -term Governor of 27
Arkansas, is a Baptist minister, and is well -known as an advocate for Israel, 28
and therefore he brings a unique combination of political expertise, faith -29
driven values, and personal ties to the Israeli region; and 30

WHEREAS, former Governor Huckabee has been a vocal supporter of 32
Israel's right to sovereignty and self -defense, rooted in his personal 33
beliefs and unwavering support for democracy in the Israeli region; and 34

WHEREAS, former Governor Huckabee's nomination highlights the universal 36 HR1043

importance of the United States -Israel relationship, particularly as he has 1
been nominated as the first non -Jewish United States Ambassador to Israel in 2

WHEREAS, former Governor Huckabee has demonstrated strong ties to 5
Israel through frequent visits, leadership of evangelical tours emphasizing 6
the spiritual and historical significance of the Holy Land, and his belief in 7
Israel's right to self -determination and defense, as recognized by Christians 8
United for Israel; and 9

WHEREAS, former Governor Huckabee's extensive experience as a three -11
term Governor equips him with the skills necessary to navigate the 12
complexities of diplomacy and to foster peace while advocating for United 13
States interests abroad; and 14

WHEREAS, former Governor Huckabee's background as a Baptist minister 16
provides a unique perspective on the cultural and religious dynamics of the 17
Israeli region, further strengthening the shared values and deep -rooted 18
connection between the United States and Israel; and 19

WHEREAS, former Governor Huckabee's nomination comes at a critical 21
time, offering hope for the restoration of peace and security in the Middle 22
East following the October 7, 2023, attacks, as well as his commitment to 23
addressing pressing issues such as the safe return of hostages and the 24

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY -FIFTH GENERAL 28
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 29

THAT the House of Representatives support the nomination of former 31
Governor of Arkansas Michael Dale "Mike" Huckabee as United States Ambassador 32
to Israel and urge former Governor Huckabee's swift confirmation to advance 33
the enduring partnership between the United States and Israel, promote peace 34
in the Israeli region, and strengthen one of the United States's most 35

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution be 2
transmitted by the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives to President 3
Donald J. Trump, members of the United States Senate, and relevant government 4
agencies urging them to support this nomination. 5
