WHEREAS, the Arkansas Athletic Trainers’ Association was founded in 17
1987 as an organization committed to the education of its members, the 18
enhancement of the profession of athletic training, and promoting better 19
health care for the population it serves; and 20

WHEREAS, athletic trainers across the State of Arkansas promote and 22
practice the profession of athletic training; and 23
24
WHEREAS, athletic trainers are highly skilled healthcare professionals 25
who specialize in risk reduction, wellness, and health literacy, assessment, 26
evaluation, and diagnosis, critical incident management, therapeutic 27
intervention, and healthcare administration and professional responsibility; 28
and 29

WHEREAS, athletic trainers collaborate with physicians to provide 31
quality health care for athletes and the physically active; and 32

WHEREAS, National Athletic Training Month is observed every March in 34
order to spread awareness regarding the important work of athletic trainers 35

WHEREAS, the advancement of athletic trainers in the State of Arkansas 2
depends on maintaining and expanding its athletic trainer workforce and 3
inspiring and motivating the current generation of students to enter the 4
athletic training field, 5

NOW THEREFORE, 7
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY -FIFTH GENERAL 8
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 9

THAT the House of Representatives designate March 2025 as National 11
Athletic Training Month. 12
