TO RECOGNIZE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES® FOR 9 
FIFTY YEARS OF SERVICE IN IMPROVING THE HEALTH AND 10 
WELL-BEING OF CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES AND 11 
DIRECTLY IMPACTING THE LOCAL COMMUNITIES OF THE STATE 12 
OF ARKANSAS. 13

TO RECOGNIZE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE 17 
CHARITIES® FOR FIFTY YEARS OF SERVICE IN 18 
IMPROVING THE HEALTH AND WELL -BEING OF 19 
CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES AND DIRECTLY 20 
IMPACTING THE LOCAL COMMUNITIES OF THE 21 
STATE OF ARKANSAS. 22

 WHEREAS, Ronald McDonald House Charities® has been committed to 24 
supporting families when a child is seriously ill since the opening of the 25 
first Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1974; and 26 
 27 
 WHEREAS, the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities® to provide 28 
essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote 29 
healing when children need healthcare has positively impacted countless 30 
families around the world; and 31 
 32 
 WHEREAS, Ronald McDonald House Charities® has continued to create new 33 
ways to support families along their child's healthcare journey; and 34 
 35 
 WHEREAS, since 1974, McDonald's Corporation, its franchisees, and its 36    	HR1116

customers have collectively donated over one billion dollars ($1,000,000,000) 1 
to help Ronald McDonald House Charities® serve millions of children and their 2 
families throughout the sixty -two (62) countries and regions in which it 3 
operates; and 4

 WHEREAS, Ronald McDonald House Charities® has expanded to more than 6 
three hundred eighty -five (385) Ronald McDonald House programs, more than two 7 
hundred seventy (270) Ronald McDonald Family Room programs, and more than 8 
forty (40) Ronald McDonald Care Mobile programs; and 9 
 10 
 WHEREAS, six (6) Ronald McDonald House Charities® programs operate in 11 
Arkansas through one (1) Ronald McDonald House Charities® Chapter, providing 12 
direct support and comfort to three thousand five hundred eighteen (3,518) 13 
children and their families across the State of Arkansas annually; and 14 
 15 
 WHEREAS, in 2023 alone, McDonald’s Corporation, along with its Arkansas 16 
franchisees and customers, raised more than nine hundred sixty -seven thousand 17 
dollars ($967,000) for the local Arkansas Ronald McDonald House Charities® 18 
Chapter, which is equivalent to nine thousand six hundred seventy (9,670) 19 
overnight stays for families at Ronald McDonald House Charities® programs in 20 
Arkansas; and 21 
 22 
 WHEREAS, Ronald McDonald House Charities® remains dedicated to 23 
enhancing its programs and creating a world where all families have what they 24 
need to ensure the best health outcomes for their children, 25 
 26 
NOW THEREFORE, 27 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY -FIFTH GENERAL 28 
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 29 
 30 
 THAT the House of Representatives recognize Ronald McDonald House 31 
Charities® for fifty (50) years of service in improving the health and well	-32 
being of children and their families and directly impacting the local 33 
communities of the State of Arkansas. 34 
 35 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution be 36    	HR1116

presented to the leaders of the Ronald McDonald House Charities® by the Chief 1
