NONPARTISAN JUDICIAL OFFICE ON THE 21
BALLOT. 22

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 24

SECTION 1. Arkansas Code ยง 7-10-103(f)(B)(ii), concerning filing as a 26
candidate for nonpartisan elections, is amended to read as follows: 27
(ii) A candidate may use as the prefix the title of 28
a nonpartisan judicial office in an election for a nonpartisan judicial 29
office only if: 30
(a) The candidate is currently serving in a 31
judicial position to which the candidate has been elected in the last 32
election for the office; or 33
(b) The candidate: 34
(1) Is a candidate for the office of 35
circuit judge or district judge a nonpartisan judicial office ; 36 SB471

(2) Is currently serving in the position 1
of circuit judge or district judge a nonpartisan judicial office as an 2
appointee; and 3
(3) Has been serving in that position 4
for at least twelve (12) months ; or 5
(c) The candidate has previously served in a 6
nonpartisan judicial office . 7
