WHO IS AN APPOINTEE IN THAT POSITION TO 26
USE THE TITLE OF THAT POSITION AS A 27
PREFIX WHEN FILING AS A CANDIDATE. 28

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 30

SECTION 1. Arkansas Code ยง 7 -10-103(f)(1)(B)(ii), concerning the 32
requirement for filing as a candidate, is amended to read as follows: 33
(ii) A candidate may use as the prefix the title of 34
a nonpartisan judicial office in an election for a nonpartisan judicial 35

(a) The candidate is currently serving in a 1
judicial position to which the candidate has been elected in the last 2
election for the office; or 3
(b) The candidate: 4
(1) Is a candidate for the office of 5
Justice of the Supreme Court, Judge of the Court of Appeals, circuit judge, 6
or district judge; 7
(2) Is currently serving in the position 8
of Justice of the Supreme Court, Judge of the Court of Appeals, circuit 9
judge, or district judge as an appointee; and 10
(3) Has been serving in that position 11
for at least twelve (12) months. 12
