WHEREAS, on October 7, 2024, the Maumelle Charter High School Falcons 20
boys' golf team won their third Class 3A Boys' State Championship at Cooper's 21
Hawk Golf Club in Melbourne, Arkansas; and 22

WHEREAS, members of the Falcons team include Drew Burns, Jase Holder, 24
Haydn Robertson, and Carson Taylor; and 25
26
WHEREAS, the Falcons team won the Class 3A Boys' State Championship 27
with a team score of two hundred forty -one (241), winning by five (5) strokes 28
over the competition; and 29

WHEREAS, Haydn Robertson led the way for the Falcons with a score of 31
seventy-nine (79); and 32

WHEREAS, Carson Taylor scored eighty (80) and Jase Holder scored 34
eighty-two (82) for the Falcons; and 35

WHEREAS, the Falcons were the only Class 3A team to have multiple All -1
State selections, with three (3) of the team members earning All -State 2
Honors; and 3

WHEREAS, the Falcons were led by Head Coach James Mitchell, and the 5
Falcons' athletic director is Tyler Posey; and 6

WHEREAS, Falcons Head Coach James Mitchell said of the win, "This team 8
was such a special group of young men [who] exuded confidence and had such an 9
unbelievable brotherhood throughout the season. They wanted to get it done 10
for each other and it was amazing to watch them go make that happen", 11

NOW THEREFORE, 13
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY -FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE 14
STATE OF ARKANSAS: 15

THAT the Senate commend the Maumelle Charter High School Falcons boys' 17
golf team for winning the 2024 Class 3A State Championship. 18

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution be 20
presented to Head Coach James Mitchell by the Secretary of the Senate. 21
