WHEREAS, the Mount St. Mary Academy Belles golf team won the Class 6A 18
Girls' State Golf Championship held on October 1 -2, 2024, at Conway Country 19
Club; and 20

WHEREAS, this was the first back -to-back state golf championship win in 22
Mount St. Mary Academy history; and 23
24
WHEREAS, the Belles beat runners -up the Rogers High School Lady 25
Mounties by twenty (20) strokes; and 26

WHEREAS, Belles team members were Bella Cate Craiglow, Maria Ezzi, 28
Chloe Freville, Amelia Green, Ana Bella Gutierrez, Lillie York, and team 29
manager Maddie Hernandez; and 30

WHEREAS, team members Lillie York and Chloe Freville were named Most 32
Valuable Players and All -Conference Players as they came in second and third 33
respectively in the state championship, helping to clinch a team score low 34
enough to win the championship; and 35

WHEREAS, team member Ana Bella Gutierrez tied for ninth individually in 1
the state championship; and 2

WHEREAS, all team members finished among the top forty (40) 4
competitors, four (4) team members finished among the top twenty (20) 5
competitors, three (3) team members finished among the top ten (10) players, 6
and two (2) team members finished among the top three (3) players; and 7

WHEREAS, team members Lillie York and Chloe Freville went on to play in 9
the overalls at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Little Rock on October 17, 10
2024, and Lillie York tied for second and Chloe Freville came in fourth; and 11

WHEREAS, the Belles were led by Head Coach Laura Freville; and 13
14
WHEREAS, the Belles' Athletic Director is Lane West, and the Assistant 15
Athletic Director is Lauren Lawrence; and 16

WHEREAS, the Belles' Athletic Trainer is Jeff Stotts; and 18

WHEREAS, the Belles' administrators are Head of School Sara Jones and 20
Assistant Head of School Robin Johnson, 21

NOW THEREFORE, 23
BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE SENATE OF THE NINETY -FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE 24
STATE OF ARKANSAS: 25

THAT the Senate recognize the Mount St. Mary Academy Belles golf team 27
as the Class 6A state champions. 28

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution be 30
provided to Head Coach Laura Freville by the Secretary of the Senate. 31
