WHEREAS, Arkansas native Izzy Higginbottom has been a star player with 19
the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville women's basketball team during the 20
2024-2025 season; and 21

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom graduated from Batesville High School 23
Charter and is the daughter of Rachel and Greg Mosier and Nathan 24
Higginbottom; and 25
26
WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom played her freshman season for the 27
University of Missouri Tigers, then played two (2) seasons for the Arkansas 28
State University at Jonesboro Red Wolves; and 29

WHEREAS, during her historic 2023 -2024 junior-year season playing for 31
the Red Wolves before her transfer to the University of Arkansas at 32
Fayetteville, Izzy Higginbottom was an All -Sun Belt First Team selection and 33
a top ten (10) scorer in the National Collegiate Athletic Association; and 34

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom said of her excitement to become a Razorback 36 SR67

during the 2024-2025 season, "As a little girl who grew up in the Natural 1
State, I was always a huge Razorback fan . . . From the time I started 2
playing, I knew my dream was to be a Razorback"; and 3

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom leads the Southeastern Conference and ranks 5
third in the National Collegiate Athletic Association in scoring average with 6
twenty-four and four-tenths (24.4) points per game, and she has registered 7
thirty (30) double-digit scoring games, including twelve (12) Southeastern 8
Conference games; and 9

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom currently leads the National Collegiate 11
Athletic Association in total points at seven hundred eighty (780); and 12

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom recorded at least twenty -five (25) points in 14
seventeen (17) games including nine (9) in Southeastern Conference play, the 15
most in the National Collegiate Athletic Association; and 16

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom logged four (4) or more assists in fifteen 18
(15) different games during the 2024 -2025 season; and 19

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom leads the National Collegiate Athletic 21
Association in freethrows made at two hundred forty -two (242), and leads the 22
Southeastern Conference and ranks ninth in the National Collegiate Athletic 23
Association in freethrow percentage at ninety and six -tenths percent (90.6%); 24
and 25

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom ranks third in the Southeastern Conference 27
and sixth in the National Collegiate Athletic Association with two hundred 28
fifty-one (251) field goals; and 29

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom logged a career -high forty (40) points 31
against Florida this season to become just the fourth player in Razorbacks 32
program history to reach this mark; and 33

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom set a Razorbacks record for the longest 35
streak of thirty-plus point games in program history with three (3) straight 36 SR67

against the University of Kentucky, Texas A&M University, and the University 1
of Florida; and 2

WHEREAS, against Texas A&M University on January 30, 2025, Izzy 4
Higginbottom finished with thirty -three (33) points, ten (10) rebounds, and 5
seven (7) assists for her first career double -double; and 6

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom was named the Southeastern Conference Player 8
of the Week after scoring thirty -eight (38) points and leading Arkansas to a 9
win over Boston College in the Southeastern Conference/Atlantic Coast 10
Conference Challenge; and 11

WHEREAS, three (3) of Izzy Higginbottom's games sit in the top ten (10) 13
of the highest scoring games in Razorbacks women's basketball history, and 14
these include thirty -eight (38) points against Boston College, forty (40) 15
points against the University of Florida, and thirty -eight (38) points 16
against the University of Georgia; and 17

WHEREAS, Izzy Higginbottom was named an All -American honorable mention 19
from the United States Basketball Writers Association and the Associated 20
Press, and is the first Razorback to appear on either list since Chelsea 21
Dungee during the 2020 -2021 season, 22

NOW THEREFORE, 24
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY -FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE 25
STATE OF ARKANSAS: 26

THAT the Senate honor University of Arkansas at Fayetteville Razorbacks 28
basketball player Izzy Higginbottom for her incredible achievements that 29
bring renown to her team and to the State of Arkansas. 30

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution be 32
presented to Izzy Higginbottom by the Secretary of the Senate. 33
