Overview 
Specifies the duration of a proclaimed state of emergency.  
History 
Statute currently stipulates that a state of emergency terminates upon proclamation of the 
Governor or by concurrent resolution of the Legislature (Laws 2021, Capter 405, Section 8). 
Applicable to this bill, a state of emergency is defined as the duly proclaimed existence of 
conditions of disaster or extreme peril caused by air pollution, fire, flood, storm epidemic, riot or 
earthquake which require the combined efforts of the state to manage (A.R.S. § 26-301).  
Provisions 
1. Stipulates that a state of emergency terminates 14 days after its proclamation unless the 
Governor calls for a special session of the Legislature. (Sec. 1)
