An Act

 

amending title 11, chapter 3, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 11-425; relating to county salaries.

 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Title 11, chapter 3, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 11-425, to read: START_STATUTE11-425. Deputy sheriffs; detention officers; salary A. The starting salary for a deputy sheriff may not be less than five percent lower than the average starting salary of law enforcement officers of the two highest paying law enforcement agencies, including the department of public safety, within the same county. b. The starting salary for a detention officer may not be less than ten percent lower than the average starting salary of detention and corrections officers of the three highest paying county detention facilities in this state and the state department of corrections. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Title 11, chapter 3, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 11-425, to read:

A. The starting salary for a deputy sheriff may not be less than five percent lower than the average starting salary of law enforcement officers of the two highest paying law enforcement agencies, including the department of public safety, within the same county.
