SB 1066: raffles; nonprofits; length of existence

Overview 
Decreases the time period that a nonprofit organization must be in continuous existence prior to 
conducting a raffle. 
History 
Pursuant to A.R.S. § 13-3302, a nonprofit organization may conduct a raffle subject to the 
following restrictions: 1) the nonprofit organization maintains its status and no member, director, 
officer, employee or agent of the organization may receive any direct or indirect pecuniary benefit, 
except for being able to participate in the raffle on a basis equal to all other participants; 2) the 
nonprofit organization has been in continuous existence in Arizona for a five-year period 
immediately before conducting the raffle; and 3) only a bona fide local member of the sponsoring 
organization may participate directly or indirectly in the management, sales or operation of the 
raffle. 
Provisions 
1. Reduces the period of time that a nonprofit organization must continuously exist in Arizona 
immediately before conducting a raffle from five years to one year. (Sec. 1)
