SB1332: public establishment; terrorism; definition

Overview 
Revises the definition of public establishment.  
History 
Public establishment means a structure, vehicle or craft that is owned, leased or operated by any 
of the following:  
1) This state or political subdivision;  
2) A public agency;  
3) The federal government; or  
4) A health care institution (A.R.S. § 13-2301).  
Terrorism means any felony involving the use of a deadly weapon, a weapon of mass destruction 
or the intentional infliction of a serious physical injury with the intent to: 
1) Influence the policy or affect the conduct of this state or any of it's political subdivisions; 
2) Cause substantial damage to or substantial interruption of public services; or  
3) Intimidate or coerce a civilian population and further the political objectives of any terrorist 
organization (A.R.S. § 13-2301). 
The penalty for terrorism is life imprisonment for an individual who has previously been convicted 
of two or more serious offenses not committed on the same occasion (A.R.S. § 13-706). 
Provisions 
1. Revises the definition of public establishment to include a structure, vehicle or craft that is 
owned, leased or operated by a private educational institution. (Sec. 1)  
2. Clarifies the definition of terrorism. (Sec. 1)
