Overview 
Continues the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) for eight 
years until July 1, 2030.  
History 
ADCRR, commonly referred to as the State Department of Corrections, is the law enforcement 
agency responsible for the incarceration of inmates in the state of Arizona. ADCRR operates 10 
state prisons and contracts for 6 privately managed prisons located throughout the State. The 
Department is statutorily responsible for maintaining and administering institutions and programs 
for the custody, control, correction, treatment and rehabilitation of adult offenders (A.R.S. §§ 41-
1602 and 41-1604). 
Provisions 
1. Continues, retroactive to July 1, 2022, ADCRR for eight years until July 1, 2030. (Sec. 1, 4) 
2. Repeals the ADCRR on January 1, 2031. (Sec. 2) 
3. Contains a legislative purpose statement. (Sec. 3)
