Overview 
Appropriates $500,000 from the state General Fund (GF) in FY 2024 for a nonprofit organization 
to create a public awareness campaign (Campaign) on Alzheimer's disease and dementia.   
History 
The purpose of the Department of Health Services (DHS) is to provide public health support, 
community health services and program planning. These programs may include epidemiology 
and disease control, health education and training, prevention and early detection of an 
intellectual disability and health information (A.R.S. § 36-104).  
Provisions 
1. Appropriates $500,000 from the GF for DHS to distribute to a nonprofit organization for a 
Campaign about Alzheimer's disease and dementia in rural and underserved urban areas.

2. Outlines eligibility requirements for a nonprofit organization to receive funding. (Sec. 1) 
3. Directs DHS to submit a report on the impact of the Campaign to the Governor, Legislature 
and Secretary of State by November 1, 2024. (Sec. 1)
