Overview 
Includes that the surviving spouse of a veteran who has not remarried is eligible for the Spouses 
of Military Veterans Tuition Scholarship (Scholarship).  
History 
Under current law the Scholarship, administered by ABOR, is awarded to the spouse of an 
honorably discharged veteran. ABOR awards the Scholarship, on a first-come first-serve basis, 
in an amount equal to the tuition and mandatory fees charged by the university or community 
college which the spouse is enrolled in (A.R.S. § 15-809). 
Provisions 
1. Broadens the scholarship to include the surviving spouse who has not remarried of an 
honorably discharged veteran is eligible to receive the scholarship. (Sec. 1)
