Purpose
Appropriates $50,000 from the state General Fund (state GF) in FY 2024 to the Arizona
Department of Water Resources (ADWR) to review and update information contained in studies
on the availability of brackish groundwater in Arizona.
Background
The Director of ADWR may conduct feasibility studies and remedial investigations
relating to groundwater quality and enter into contracts and cooperative agreements of the
comprehensive environmental response liability act of 1980 to conduct such studies and
investigations (A.R.S. ยง 45-105).
H.B. 2217 appropriates $50,000 from the state GF in FY 2024 to ADWR.
Provisions
1. Appropriates $50,000 from the state GF in FY 2024 to ADWR to review and update
information contained in studies on the availability of brackish groundwater in Arizona.
2. Exempts the appropriation from lapsing.
3. Becomes effective on the general effective date.
