Assigned to TAT & APPROP FOR COMMITTEE ARIZONA STATE SENATE Fifty-Sixth Legislature, First Regular Session FACT SHEET FOR H.B. 2449 appropriation; Pinal East-West Corridor Purpose Appropriates $9,700,000 from the state General Fund (state GF) in FY 2024 to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to distribute to Pinal County for the engineering and design of the West Pinal Parkway East-West Corridor. Background ADOT is responsible for the design and construction of state public transportation systems and the maintenance and operation of state highways in Arizona (A.R.S. § 28-332). ADOT may contract and do all things necessary to secure the full benefits available to Arizona for transportation purposes under federal law. ADOT may cooperate with: 1) federal, state and local government agencies; 2) Indian tribes; 3) private and public organizations; and 4) private individuals. ADOT may exchange federal monies with local governments in order to receive local monies and may include additional federal monies in the exchange to offset the matching costs required of local governments (A.R.S. § 28-334).
