An Act

 

appropriating monies to the Arizona department of agriculture.

 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Appropriations; Arizona department of agriculture; certified peace officers; health inspectors; intent  A. The sum of $______________ and one full-time equivalent position are appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2023-2024 to the Arizona department of agriculture for the purposes of funding a certified peace officer located in eastern Maricopa and Pinal counties to investigate livestock neglect and cruelty and criminal matters involving livestock and to complete livestock inspections for health and ownership. B. The sum of $_____________ and two full-time equivalent positions are appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2023-2024 to the Arizona department of agriculture for the purposes of funding one animal health inspector at the Douglas port of entry and one animal health inspector at the Nogales port of entry. C. The sum of $____________ and one and one-half full-time equivalent positions are appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2023-2024 to the Arizona department of agriculture for the purposes of funding certified peace officers to investigate livestock neglect and cruelty and criminal matters involving livestock and to complete livestock inspections for health and ownership for investigations and inspections located in northern Cochise, Gila, Graham, and Greenlee counties. D. The sum of $______________ and one full-time equivalent position are appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2023-2024 to the Arizona department of agriculture for the purpose of funding a certified peace officer to ensure compliance with the self-inspection program for hauling cattle and ownership transfers. E. The legislature intends that the appropriations made in subsections A, B, C and D of this section be considered ongoing funding in future years. 

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

A. The sum of $______________ and one full-time equivalent position are appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2023-2024 to the Arizona department of agriculture for the purposes of funding a certified peace officer located in eastern Maricopa and Pinal counties to investigate livestock neglect and cruelty and criminal matters involving livestock and to complete livestock inspections for health and ownership.
