Assigned to TAT & APPROP FOR COMMITTEE ARIZONA STATE SENATE Fifty-Sixth Legislature, First Regular Session FACT SHEET FOR H.B. 2752 appropriation: State Route 85 Purpose Appropriates $6,500,000 from the state General Fund in FY 2024 to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to design and engineer improvements on State Route 85 (SR 85) between mile post 123 and Maricopa Road. Background ADOT is responsible for the design and construction of state public transportation systems and the maintenance and operation of state highways in Arizona (A.R.S. § 28-332). ADOT may contract and do all things necessary to secure the full benefits available to Arizona for transportation purposes under federal law. ADOT may cooperate with: 1) federal, state and local government agencies; 2) Indian tribes; 3) private and public organizations; and 4) private individuals. ADOT may exchange federal monies with local governments in order to receive local monies and may include additional federal monies in the exchange to offset the matching costs required of local governments (A.R.S. § 28-334). H.B. 2752 appropriates $6,500,000 from the state General Fund in FY 2024 to ADOT to design and engineer improvements on SR 85. Provisions 1.
