Overview
States that the Legislature recognizes, encourages and continues to support Arizona's beef-
producing farmers, ranchers and families.
History
Since statehood, the five C's (copper, cattle, cotton, citrus and climate) have played a
fundamental role in Arizona's economy, with many jobs in agriculture, ranching and mining.

According to the Arizona Department of Agriculture, more than 30% of Arizona's 20,005
farms and ranches raise cattle, totaling almost 1,000,000 head (Guide to Arizona Agriculture
2018).
Provisions
1. Declares that the Legislature recognizes, encourages and continues to support Arizona's
beef-producing farmers, ranchers and families.
