Summary of the Strike-Everything Amendment to SB 1176
Overview
Adds county sheriffs as eligible recipients of Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Fund (Fund)
monies.
History
The Fund consists of 0.55% of motor vehicle fuel tax revenues and 70% of user fees from off-
highway vehicle (OHV) indicia. The Fund is administered by the Arizona State Parks Board
(ASPB), which spends 60% of the Fund's monies on a variety of purposes, including
developing an OHV program, maintaining OHV routes, mitigating damage from OHVs and
enforcement of OHV laws by ASPB. Most expenditures from the Fund must be consistent
with a recreational plan maintained by ASPB (A.R.S. § 28-1176).
Provisions
1. Allows ASPB to make disbursements from the Fund to county sheriffs for the enforcement
