(TEXT OF BILL BEGINS ON NEXT PAGE) Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Auditor general; department of revenue; review; report; delayed repeal A. The auditor general shall conduct a review of the department of revenue regarding the department's essential staffing needs and employee compensation and identify all of the following: 1. The number of positions within the department that are behind the pay scale and the percentage each position is behind in pay. 2. The number of vacant positions within the department and the number of days each position has been vacant. 3. Strategies to fill any open positions within the department. B. On or before December 31, 2025, the auditor general shall submit its report of the review, including any recommendations and findings, to the governor, the president of the senate, the speaker of the house of representatives and the director of the department of revenue and provide a copy of this report to the secretary of state. C. This section is repealed from and after June 30, 2026. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1.
