History DOC provides educational programs to assist offenders in gaining skills that lead to productive and practical work experiences while within the correctional setting and that help transition them back into the community upon release. There is a large range in the content and structure of the available programs, including academic instruction, career technical education, self-improvement programs and volunteering with community partners (DOC Education and Program Offerings). Provisions 1. Appropriates $400,000 for the state GF in FY 2026 to DOC for the Program. (Sec. 1) 2. States that the Legislature: a) finds that DOC currently allocates $200,000 each FY for the Program; and b) intends that the appropriation of $400,000 be considered ongoing funding in future years.
