LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 1479, as introduced, Duvall. Welfare reform. Existing law provides for various public social services, such as the CalWORKs program, under which each county provides cash assistance and other benefits to qualified low-income families. This bill would declare the intent of the Legislature that would enact legislation that would address the issue of welfare reform. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to address the issue of welfare reform.
