Vehicles: traffic violator schools. Existing law establishes licensing requirements for traffic violator schools, as specified, and authorizes a court, in lieu of adjudicating a traffic offense committed by a person holding one of specified types of driver's licenses, and with the consent of the defendant, to order the person to attend a licensed traffic violator school, licensed driving school, or other court-approved program of driving instruction. This bill would state the Legislature's intent to enact legislation to consolidate existing licensing programs to incorporate court-approved home study programs under the same structure as existing traffic violator school programs.
