This bill would establish the Ronald Reagan Centennial Commission in state government to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Ronald Reagan's birth. The bill would require the commission to create appropriate means to allow Californians to celebrate Ronald Reagan's life by honoring, promoting, and remembering his achievements for this state and country. The bill would prohibit the commission from using public funds and would require the commission to be solely supported by private funds. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Chapter 7.5 (commencing with Section 6750) is added to Division 7 of Title 1 of the Government Code, to read: CHAPTER 7.5. RONALD REAGAN CENTENNIAL COMMISSION 6750. (a) The Ronald Reagan Centennial Commission is hereby established in state government to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States and 33rd Governor of California. (b) The commission shall create appropriate means to allow Californians to celebrate the life of Ronald Reagan by honoring, promoting, and remembering his achievements for this state and country. (c) The commission shall not use public funds and shall be solely supported by private funds.
