 BILL NUMBER: AB 2261INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member Feuer FEBRUARY 18, 2010 An act to amend Section 9143 of the Government Code, relating to the Legislature. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 2261, as introduced, Feuer. Legislature: aids to the Legislature. Existing law permits the Joint Legislative Budget Committee to appoint a Legislative Analyst and such other clerical and technical employees as necessary. This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to this provision. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 9143 of the Government Code is amended to read: 9143.  (a)    The committee shall have authority to appoint a  legislative analyst   Legislative Analyst  and such other clerical and technical employees as may appear necessary, pursuant to the provisions of  subsection (4) of  subdivision (a) of Section 4  ,   of  Article  XXIV   VII  of the  California  Constitution. The funds for the support of the committee shall be provided from the Contingent Funds of the Senate and the Assembly in the same manner that  such   those  funds are made available to other joint committees of the Legislature.  (b)    Whenever the term "Legislative Auditor" appears in any provision of law of this  State   state  , it shall be deemed to mean the Legislative Analyst provided for by this section.
