BILL NUMBER: AB 2602INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member Conway FEBRUARY 19, 2010 An act to relating to community colleges. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 2602, as introduced, Conway. Community colleges: agricultural career technical education. Existing law establishes the California Community Colleges, under the administration of the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges, as one of the segments of public postsecondary education in this state. Existing law establishes community college districts, administered by a governing board, throughout the state, and authorizes these districts to provide instruction to students at the community college campuses maintained by the districts. Existing law creates within the State Department of Education an agricultural career technical education unit to assist school districts in the establishment and maintenance of agricultural career technical education programs. This bill would express the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to develop and adopt uniform, objective, and high-quality criteria and standards for evaluating programs of instruction in agricultural career technical education within the California Community Colleges. It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to develop and adopt uniform, objective, and high-quality criteria and standards for evaluating programs of instruction in agricultural career technical education within the California Community Colleges.
