 BILL NUMBER: AB 2690INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member De La Torre FEBRUARY 19, 2010 An act to amend Section 131280 of the Public Utilities Code, relating to transportation. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 2690, as introduced, De La Torre. Bay Area County Traffic and Transportation Funding Act: county transportation authority termination. The Bay Area County Traffic and Transportation Funding Act requires a county transportation authority created pursuant to an adopted county transportation expenditure plan to close its affairs and be terminated within 180 days after the completion of projects listed in the county transportation expenditure plan and upon retirement of all authorized bonds. This bill would, instead, require a county transportation authority to close its affairs and be terminated within 200 days after the completion of those projects and upon retirement of all authorized bonds. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 131280 of the Public Utilities Code is amended to read: 131280. A county transportation authority shall close its affairs and be terminated within  180   200  days after the completion of the projects listed in the county transportation expenditure plan and upon retirement of all the bonds authorized to be issued pursuant to this division.
