 BILL NUMBER: SB 1230INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Senator DeSaulnier FEBRUARY 19, 2010 An act relating to human trafficking. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST SB 1230, as introduced, DeSaulnier. Human trafficking. Existing law defines human trafficking as the deprivation of the personal liberty of another person with the intent to effect a specified sex crime or to obtain forced labor or services, as specified. This bill would state that it is the intent of the Legislature to later amend into this bill provisions that would combat and prevent human trafficking in California. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to later amend into this bill provisions that would combat and prevent human trafficking in California.
