LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST SB 1248, as introduced, Dutton. Public Utilities Act. Under existing law, the Public Utilities Commission has regulatory authority over public utilities, as defined. The existing Public Utilities Act sets forth the general regulatory responsibilities of the commission with respect to all public utilities. This bill would make technical and nonsubstantive changes to the statute setting forth the name of the act. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no.
