 BILL NUMBER: SB 887INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Senator Hollingsworth JANUARY 20, 2010 An act to amend Section 8504 of the Government Code, relating to state government. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST SB 887, as introduced, Hollingsworth. Milton Marks Commission: membership: Members of the Legislature. Existing law creates the Milton Marks "Little Hoover" Commission on California State Government Organization and Economy, which has a prescribed membership that includes 4 members of the Legislature, as prescribed. Existing law specifies that the Members of the Legislature serving as members of the commission be considered a joint committee of the 2 houses of the Legislature constituted and acting as an investigating committee. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to these provisions. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 8504 of the Government Code is amended to read: 8504. For  the  purposes of this chapter  ,  the Members of the Legislature serving as members of the commission shall be considered a joint committee of the two houses of the Legislature constituted and acting as an investigating committee, and  as such  shall have the powers and duties imposed on  such   these joint  committees by the Joint Rules of the Senate and Assembly.
