LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 2561, as introduced, Roger Hernndez. The Department of Consumer Affairs. Existing law creates the Department of Consumer Affairs in the state government, comprised of specified boards, bureaus, and commissions. Under existing law, the department is under the control of a civil executive officer who is known as the Director of Consumer Affairs and who is responsible for organization of the department, subject to approval of the Governor, as specified. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to the latter provision. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 152 of the Business and Professions Code is amended to read: 152. For the purpose of administration, the reregistration and clerical work of the department is organized by the director, subject to the approval of the Governor, insuchthe mannerashe or she deems necessaryproperlyto properly segregate and conduct the work of the department.
