Schools: warning posters. Existing law states the intent of the Legislature that all California public schools, in cooperation with local law enforcement agencies, community leaders, parents, pupils, teachers, administrators, and other persons who may be interested in the prevention of campus crime and violence, develop a comprehensive school safety plan that addresses the safety concerns identified through a systematic planning process and requires a school to adopt a comprehensive school safety plan. This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would require schools to create and display posters warning pupils of the range of consequences fo engaging in behavior that can result in detention by law enforcement. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would require schools to create and display posters warning pupils of the range of consequences for engaging in behavior that can result in detention by law enforcement.
