LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST SB 1010, as introduced, Mitchell. Department of Justice: peace officers: training. Existing requires the Department of Justice to require all persons employed within the department as peace officers and performing investigative duties to obtain a certificate from the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to these provisions. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 11006 of the Penal Code is amended to read: 11006. The Attorney General shall appoint such agents and other employees as he deems necessary to carry out the provisions of this chapter.
