LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST SB 1416, as introduced, Block. Dentistry. Existing law, the Dental Practice Act, provides for the licensure and regulation of the practice of dentistry by the Dental Board of California. The act, among other things, requires the board to examine all applicants for a license to practice dentistry and to collect and apply all fees, as specified. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 1611 of the Business and Professions Code is amended to read: 1611. The board shall carry out the purposes and enforce the provisions of this chapter.ItThe board shall examine all applicants for a license to practice dentistry according to the provisions of this chapter and shall issue licenses to practice dentistry in thisStatestate tosuchthose applicantsaswho successfully pass the examination of the board and otherwise comply with the provisions of this chapter. The board shall collect and apply all fees as directed by this chapter.
