LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST SB 711, as introduced, Padilla. Public health: communicable diseases: rabies. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to that provision. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 121595 of the Health and Safety Code is amended to read: 121595. Whenever any a case of rabies is reported as existing in any county or city, the department shall make, or cause to be made, a preliminary investigation as to whether the disease exists, and as to the probable area of the state in which the population or animals are endangered.
