LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 1819, as introduced, Melendez. State highway routes: route numbers. Existing law gives the Department of Transportation full possession and control of all state highways. Existing law describes the authorized routes in the state highway system by route numbers and provides that the route numbers are those given to the routes by the California Transportation Commission. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 231 of the Streets and Highways Code is amended to read: 231. As used in this chapter, "route" meansStatea state highway route and the route numbers are those giventhe Statestate highway routes or portionsthereofof those routes by the commission. Each complete route is described inarticle 3 of this chapter.Article 3 (commencing with Section 300).
