Untreated medical waste shall not be disposed of in a solid waste landfill, as defined in Section 40195.1. Medical waste that has been treated and deemed to be solid waste shall be regulated pursuant to this division.(4) Byproducts from processing food, if those byproducts are intended for use as animal feed.

This bill would exclude from the acts definition of solid waste byproducts from processing food, if those byproducts are intended for use as animal feed.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:SECTION 1. Section 40191 of the Public Resources Code is amended to read:40191. Untreated medical waste shall not be disposed of in a solid waste landfill, as defined in Section 40195.1.
