Existing law requires the State Department of Social Services to implement a specified resource family approval process in all counties. Existing law makes the counties responsible for, among other things, implementing the requirements for resource family approval, requiring resource families to complete a minimum of 8 hours of caregiver training annually, and updating resource family approval annually and as necessary to address any changes that have occurred in the resource familys circumstances. Any new program or higher level of service provided by a local agency pursuant to this act above the level for which funding has been provided shall not require a subvention of funds by the state or otherwise be subject to Section 6 of Article XIIIB of the California Constitution.
