Existing law establishes the Strategic Growth Council consisting of the chief officer of various state agencies and public members, as specified. Existing law requires the Strategic Growth Council to, among other things, develop and administer the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities Program, pursuant to which the council provides funding to eligible projects in accordance with specified objectives and criteria.This bill would require the California Housing Finance Agency to collaborate with the Strategic Growth Council, the Department of Housing and Community Development, and the Treasurers office in order to determine a consolidated process for various affordable housing projects to apply for bond money, tax credits, and Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities grants and loans.
