Existing law imposes various civil and criminal penalties on persons who falsely represent themselves to be another person under specified circumstances or for specified purposes.This bill would make it unlawful for any person to falsely represent themselves to be a public official or public employee conducting a government census with the knowing intent to deceive an undocumented immigrant. as, or falsely assume the role of, a census taker with the intent to obtain information from another person, including, but not limited to, information about another persons immigration status.
