Existing law provides procedures for the election or appointment of members of county central committees of the Democratic Party. Existing law provides that a person is not eligible for appointment or election to a committee if the person is not registered as affiliated with the party at the time of the appointment or election.This bill would delete registered affiliation with the party as a requirement of eligibility for appointment to a county central committee. instead provide that a person is not eligible for appointment or election if the person does not have recognized affiliation, as defined by the party.
