Digest KeyBill TextWHEREAS, A strong, resilient, and efficient supply chain is essential to Californias economy, ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services that businesses and consumers rely on every day; andWHEREAS, Californias ports, airports, railways, highways, and logistics centers serve as critical hubs for domestic and international trade, supporting millions of jobs and maintaining the flow of essential goods to communities across the state and nation; andWHEREAS, Supply Chain Awareness Month highlights the importance of protecting and strengthening the infrastructure, workforce, and policies that support the movement of goods and services, ensuring economic stability, job growth, and access to everyday necessities; andWHEREAS, The supply chain industry is a cornerstone of Californias economy, employing workers across transportation, logistics, warehousing, and retail, and driving commerce for businesses large and small; andWHEREAS, The workers and labor force within the supply chainport workers, truck drivers, warehouse employees, rail operators, and logistics professionalsare essential to keeping goods moving and ensuring the stability of the entire supply chain industry; andWHEREAS, The Supply Chain Federation is a national advocacy organization dedicated to securing and strengthening Americas supply chain by uniting business and labor to protect jobs, invest in infrastructure, and ensure supply chain stability in the face of global and domestic challenges; andWHEREAS, The Supply Chain Federation supports policies that:(1) Strengthen and expand infrastructure investment to build and maintain ports, roads, bridges, railways, and airports, ensuring supply chain efficiency; (2) Support workforce development and job creation at each critical point of the supply chain, from transportation hubs to logistics centers, sustaining high-quality jobs in California;(3) Recognize and support the essential contributions of supply chain workers and labor organizations, ensuring policies that protect jobs and enhance workforce stability;(4) Promote the adoption of practical, climate-friendly technologies that are ready for implementation without disrupting businesses and supply chain operations; andWHEREAS, It is in the interest of the State of California to support policies that enhance the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of the supply chain, ensuring continued economic growth and stability for businesses, workers, and consumers alike; now, therefore, be itResolved by the Assembly of the State of California,That the Assembly recognizes the month of April 2025 as Supply Chain Awareness Month, honoring the workers, businesses, and industries that keep Californias economy moving; and be it furtherResolved,That the Assembly commends the Supply Chain Federation for its advocacy in protecting and strengthening the supply chain, ensuring policies that support infrastructure investment, workforce development, and economic stability; and be it furtherResolved, That the Assembly reaffirms its commitment to advancing policies that support a strong, efficient, and resilient supply chain, recognizing its essential role in the prosperity of California and the nation, and honoring the dedicated workers whose labor ensures the continued movement of goods across the state and beyond; and be it furtherResolved, That the Chief Clerk of the Assembly transmit copies of this resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
