For county court organizational and administrative purposes, the
bill changes the classifications of Garfield and Montezuma counties from
Class C to Class B.
For Garfield county, the bill amends the requirement that the
associate county court judge in Rifle must maintain an official residence
in Rifle and instead requires an official residence anywhere in Garfield
county.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:1
SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 13-6-201, amend2
(2)(b) and (2)(c) as follows:3
13-6-201. Classification of counties. (2) Classes of counties for4
this part 2 are:5
(b) Class B. Class B shall consist
CONSISTS of the counties of6
Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Douglas, Eagle, El Paso, Fremont,7

ARFIELD, Jefferson, La Plata, Larimer, Mesa, MONTEZUMA, Montrose,8
Pueblo, Summit, Weld, and the city and county of Broomfield.9
(c) Class C. Class C shall consist
CONSISTS of the counties of10
Alamosa, Delta, Garfield, Las Animas, Logan, Montezuma, Morgan,11
Otero, Prowers, and Rio Grande.12
SECTION 2. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 13-6-209, amend (2)13
and (3) as follows:14
13-6-209. Special associate and associate county judges -15
designated counties. (2) In the county of Garfield there shall be a16
special associate county judge who shall maintain his AN official17
residence
IN GARFIELD COUNTY and court chambers in the city of Rifle.18
(3) In the county of Rio Blanco there shall

SECTION 3. Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds,22
